THE ROLE:

The Regional Sales Development Executive will be instrumental in enhancing sales volume and achieving business targets by identifying and securing new strategic business opportunities within the designated region. This role encompasses the establishment of new distributor partnerships and dealer networks across various channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, nurture, and finalize new business opportunities across diverse customer segments in the region, maintaining an active sales pipeline.
  • Drive sales and profitability for assigned regional opportunities by targeting new key accounts and significant buying groups.
  • Develop and present a comprehensive business development strategy for the region, collaborating with the Regional Sales Manager to pinpoint key accounts for pursuit.
  • Collaborate with fellow Regional Sales Development Executives on strategic national sales initiatives.
  • Facilitate the smooth transition of new business to the appropriate field sales and customer experience teams, ensuring proper account setup and future sales opportunities.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and leadership teams to shape channel strategies, create impactful customer presentations, and tailor unique offerings to align with Wakefield's strategic goals.
  • Maintain a strong partnership with National Sales Managers, Customer Experience, and Supply Chain teams to ensure a clear plan and forecast for fulfilling sales commitments during proposal development.
  • Adhere to the organization's sales process, utilizing Wakefield's Salesforce platform to document sales activities and manage leads and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with customers, ensuring timely communication and resolution of inquiries or issues.
  • Conduct training sessions for target customers and provide updates on products, new programs, or initiatives. Represent Wakefield and the Castrol brand at trade shows and industry events as required.
  • Stay informed about market trends and opportunities that align with Wakefield's overall business objectives.

  • Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Conceptual and strategic thinker.
  • In-depth product knowledge or the capacity to quickly learn about the products.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to exceeding client expectations.
  • Ability to build and manage a pipeline of opportunities that align with the organization's strategy.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required.

Education and Experience:

  • College diploma or university degree in Business with a focus on Sales or Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of sales experience, either in a field sales capacity or a combination of field sales and key account management.
  • Experience in selling automotive lubricants or related products through distributors or direct channels is preferred. Experience in consumer packaged goods sales is an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite; experience with CRM systems is preferred.
  • Ability to navigate a standardized sales call process is essential.
