Position Overview:

The Regional Sales Executive plays a crucial role in developing and nurturing customer relationships to stimulate market growth for the Raymond/BT line of material handling equipment and other offerings by Johnston Equipment within a designated region.

Your Impact:

As a Regional Sales Executive, you will be a key player in engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance the sales performance of Johnston Equipment. Your industry knowledge and product expertise will be vital in driving our sales initiatives.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Maintain consistent communication with clients through face-to-face meetings, phone interactions, and emails.
  • Identify client needs and explore new markets for the Raymond/BT product line and other Johnston Equipment solutions.
  • Provide clients with detailed product information, emphasizing features, advantages, and new services.
  • Promote all Johnston services and departments, highlighting the comprehensive solutions offered by the company.
  • Advise clients on their material handling needs.

Market Development:

  • Investigate and target competitors and potential new clients within the region.
  • Formulate strategies to convert competitors and non-users into Johnston customers.
  • Maintain relationships with potential clients through meetings, calls, and emails.
  • Collaborate with various Johnston departments to meet client requirements.
  • Share updates on new products and services with prospective clients.
  • Engage in networking activities to create new business opportunities.

Proposal and Order Preparation:

  • Research application needs and establish pricing based on specifications.
  • Secure approvals for discounts and ensure compliance with gross profit standards.
  • Prepare quotes and order forms for client presentations.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers for proposal development and order processing.

Networking:

  • Network to promote Johnston Equipment and its product offerings.
  • Collaborate with all product groups within Johnston.
  • Participate in relevant inter-departmental meetings as required.

Forecasting and Reporting:

  • Generate monthly and annual unit/dollar forecasts.
  • Create detailed customer and competitor profiles, team reports, and lost order reports.
  • Develop annual business and market strategies, identifying target accounts.

Qualifications:

  • High integrity and strong work ethic.
  • Preferably a Secondary School or University Degree/College Diploma.
  • A minimum of 2 years of sales experience is required, ideally with exposure to flooring or building materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert prospects into clients while achieving sales targets.
  • Strong skills in opportunity identification, pre-visit planning, account development, and territory management.
  • Experience in engaging multiple key decision-makers for opportunity qualification.
  • Comprehensive understanding of retail and wholesale sales principles and techniques.
  • Effective problem-solving and objection resolution skills.
  • Able to cultivate long-lasting client relationships.
  • Self-motivated with high energy and enthusiasm.
  • A valid driver's license is required; proactive individuals with a determined mindset are encouraged to apply.
  • Individuals with experience in Account Management, Territory Sales Management, or Independent Sales roles are welcome.
