**About the Role**

In the role of HR Advisor, located in our Victoria office, you will be responsible for supporting the daily HR functions for the Calgary and Victoria locations as well as supporting the overall HR corporate function. We are looking for a 12-month maternity leave coverage which might have the option for extension. The HR Advisor will be responsible for analyzing the company’s HR process, strategies, and policies to ensure compliance. Additionally, they will offer recommendations to the an Executive Leadership Team and Team Leads for improving efficiencies and outcomes regarding the recruitment process and workforce management. This role will be heavily focused on change management and ensuring the HR initiatives that are outlined for the year are achieved. To be successful in this role, you should have an academic and professional background in HR, along with a good understanding of labour relations.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Identifying and resolving employee and labour relations issues in consideration of internal policies and established practices, applicable legislation, and organizational needs.
- Partnering with leaders at all levels to solve problems, promote optimal employee and organizational outcomes, balance risks, and strengthen relationships.
- Building the capacity and capabilities of people leaders through partnership and consultation.
- Contributing to the Department and Company’s operational and strategic objectives on an ongoing basis.
- Identifying and implementing improvements in HR and related business practices.
- Design and help implement company policies.
- Reviewing and updating job descriptions.
- Conducting internal surveys to gather employee feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
- The HR Advisor may be called on to perform other related activities as required.

**Our Must Haves**:

- Post-Secondary diploma in Human Resources Management or related field
- At least 4 years of progressive, responsible experience in employee relations, job evaluation, and organizational and system design.
- Knowledge of labour legislation, Human Rights Code and Employment Standards for both Alberta and British Columbia.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work closely with leadership to support the resolution of employee issues in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and BambooHR.
- Problem-solving attitude.
- Capable of communicating with and supporting employees at all levels of the organization.
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation would be an asset.
