POSITION PROFILE - Human Resources Advisor
:
Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Advisor is crucial in overseeing the entire recruitment process. This involves collaborating with leadership to determine staffing requirements, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and managing the hiring process. The role also encompasses supporting onboarding, benefits, and compensation, aiding in HR policies and training, and utilizing HRIS to support employees. Additionally, the HR Advisor contributes to office initiatives, HR analytics, and promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture.
The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $105,000, however actual salary may fall outside of this range depending on various factors, including but not limited to, experience and expertise.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
- Manage full cycle recruiting by partnering with leadership to determine staffing needs and requirements.
- Review and qualify applicant resume in accordance to hiring manager's needs.
- Conduct preliminary phone interviews to assess talent fit for teams.
- Coordinate appropriate assessments and references.
- Make recommendations on hiring decisions.
- Deliver offer letters for all positions, and explain important information within the offer (e.g., benefits, compensation).
- Support in conducting relevant pre-employment screenings for prospective employees.
- Create and develop sourcing strategies as needed.
- In addition to full cycle recruitment support the Human Resources Advisor assists with onboarding, compensation, and benefits, as well as administration and providing back up support to the Office Administrator.
- Assists with the implementation of Human Resources policies and training programs to ensure legislative compliance and alignment across the group.
- Acts as a key resource to employees regarding the use of the Dayforce HRIS.
- Partners with the Office Administrator to help plan and execute office-based initiatives and events.
- Assists in various HR analytical reports with the objective of reviewing key metrics and assisting Business leaders in making strategic HR decisions.
- Supports the development of an overall enterprise culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performance all the while never losing sight of creating a culture of collaboration and respect.
**QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES**:
- 3+ years of HR experience gained in a spectrum of different types of organizations in a hands-on, business advisor role.
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration or related discipline and CPHR designation.
- Understanding of Provincial and Canadian Labour and Employment Laws, preferably in multi-provincial jurisdictions.
- Experience with Dayforce is considered a significant asset.
- Proven human resources, operational, and strategic capabilities combined with solid business acumen and financial discipline.
- Proven HR experience in employee relations, recruitment, performance management, training, communication, succession planning, and Human Rights compliance.
- Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commitment to business process improvement, with a focus on efficient delivery of HR services.
- Embraces technology as a tool to enhance management practices, increase productivity, and optimize the level of service delivery.
- Exhibits strong personal values, integrity, and hands-on work habits - is comfortable in a diverse group of operational environments.
- Brings an ability to 'think outside the box'; has a proven track record of creative problem
- solving and consensus building skills necessary for addressing sensitive business problems.
- Highly energetic with a strong work ethic.
- Understands that HR is a service provider to the business units and HR success comes from getting to know the workforce.
