Administrative Full-time New Position

The Assistant Manager of Video Production is accountable to the Manager, Media Services and leads a team of professionals responsible for producing industry-leading videos for instructional materials, promotional activities, and communications. The incumbent will ensure excellence in craft and process for pre-production, filming, and post-production. The Assistant Manager will provide operational oversight of the Media Services studio for a broad range of audio and video services, by working with the production team in support of faculty and staff with an emphasis on service excellence and technical expertise.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manages the Media Services video production intake process, capacity planning, and team of creative professionals
- Consults with College representatives (e.g., administrators, support staff, and faculty) to understand objectives, gather requirements, and oversee the development of video assets
- Manages internal/external service providers to deliver video assets
- Advises on logistics for projects, including staffing, production schedules, and equipment resources
- Creates and manages the video production schedule and provides day-to-day oversight for concurrent projects
- Provides hands-on pre-production and post-production support, including, but not limited to, filming, directing, and editing
- Fosters excellent working relationships with individuals at all levels within and outside the College, including administration, faculty, and staff, using good judgment, discretion, flexibility, and problem solving to provide an exceptional level of customer service
- Fosters continuous innovation by maintaining expertise in current and emerging technologies that support engaging learning experiences
- Plans, prioritizes, and manages the work of employees, providing strategic and tactical advice, guidance, and coaching
- Manages performance by establishing performance standards, reviewing, and evaluating performance and conducting formal performance reviews on an ongoing basis
- Fosters a culture of collaboration, creativity, innovation, and professional development
- Implements and manages standards, policies, and procedures for the use of the audio recording and media studios by internal/external stakeholders
- Advises on equipment, hardware and software requirements, timing, and budget to meet production team needs
- Identifies and supervises facility improvements to ensure alignment with curricular needs

Qualifications:

- Two-year Diploma in Film/Video Production or a related field
- Minimum seven years of experience with video production within the film and academia/private sector
- Intermediate knowledge of all aspects of audio production, including hardware and software, sound requirements, audio recording, workflow, and platforms
- Demonstrated advanced technical experience with professional grade camera equipment including but not limited to the Sony cinema line
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite in a Mac environment
- Superior project management skills, including accurate resource and time estimating, experience successfully managing concurrent video production projects involving multiple team members
- Refined and assertive leadership skills with the ability to positively influence change through solid rationale and diplomacy
- Experience managing and energizing staff, with demonstrated success in coaching, developing, and providing direction to highly skilled and creative people
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong collaborative qualities as well as the ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms to administration and faculty
