Administrative Full-time Revised Position

The Assistant Manager, Media & Design Services plays a pivotal role in managing media production operations within the Online Learning Centre. The Assistant Manager will lead a team of graphic designers cultivating innovative design solutions for online learning initiatives. The Assistant Manager will provide leadership and guidance to project teams fostering collaboration with internal stakeholders to advance college-wide goals in online education.

**Responsibilities**:
**Media Production Operations**
- Consults with College representatives, including administrators, support staff, and faculty, to understand objectives, gather requirements, and oversee the development of media & design assets
- Collaborates with the project team to identify project needs and schedule logistics, including personnel and studio resources
- Creates and oversees comprehensive production schedules to ensure deliverables are met
- Distributes updates to the project team, stakeholders, or sponsors and provides comprehensive reporting on project progress
- Leads project closure activities, including issuing feedback surveys and conducting retrospective meetings as needed
- Contributes to the annual operational plan, monitors, and reports on progress
- Manages the creation, review, and acquisition of signed media releases, actor agreements, and location contracts
- Coordinates actor and location payments, adhering to college guidelines and financial procedures
- Obtains and manages necessary permits and licenses, including certificates of insurance for filming at various locations
- Maintains detailed and organized records and documentation related to pre-production activities, including schedules, contracts, scripts, storyboards, and other essential materials
- Coordinates with external vendors, such as talent agencies, gear rental providers, and locations, to ensure all necessary resources are secured

**Graphic Design Leadership**
- Oversees hiring and supervision of media and design work study and co-op students
- Plans, prioritizes, and manages the work of employees, providing strategic and tactical advice, guidance, and coaching
- Manages performance by establishing performance standards, reviewing, and evaluating performance and conducting formal performance reviews on an ongoing basis
- Maintains high standards of creative excellence, providing creative vision and direction to guide projects, ensuring they align with organizational goals and brand identity
- Leads brainstorming sessions and concept development to generate innovative ideas for design and content

**Qualifications**:

- Two-year Diploma in Animation, Communication Studies, Media, Film, Journalism, Graphic Design or a related field
- Minimum five years of demonstrated experience in graphic design and media production, including pre-production, production, and post-production workflows
- Strong project management skills and successful concurrent management of a variety of media production projects with multiple team members
- Advanced practical experience using Adobe Creative Cloud
- Interpersonal and client relationship skills with experience discussing media and design project needs and options and analyzing requirements
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Leadership skills with the ability to positively influence change through solid rationale and diplomacy
