The IT Project Deployment Specialist is a technical leader responsible for multiple projects involving new construction, renovations, technology enhancements and corporate initiatives. The incumbent is actively involved in the entire project lifecycle: Planning, Design & Development, Implementation and Closure. They are responsible for supporting the Project Manager (PM) on all IT related tasks and collaborating with stakeholders, design architects, contractors and IT technical staff.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate as the IT deployment specialist for multiple projects involving new construction, renovations, technology enhancements and corporate initiatives
- Participate in the entire project lifecycle: planning, design, integration, and commissioning
- Attend meetings with project sponsors and stakeholders to understand a project’s technology objectives, functionality requirements, task priorities and scope of work
- Provide project plan input based on IT scope of work and technical requirements; Develop task list with duration estimates, documentation and design deliverables, and technology risk mitigation suggestions
- Create project documentation including but not limited to IT requirements, AV system requirements and design specifications, installation specifications, commissioning checklists, bill of materials, procurement requests, status reports, deficiency lists and training material
- Attend meetings with design architects and contractors to provide input on IT requirements
- Review architectural engineering drawings and create redline feedback to reflect changes required to AV system solutions, networking infrastructure, cabling conduits, power drops and capacities, lighting and HVAC locations, furniture placement, etc.
- Create technical documentation to support the bidding processes used to obtain A/V contractor resources for design and installation and commissioning tasks
- Assist Procurement with the creation and edits to tender documentation
- Support the bid process by providing input on technical questions asked and bid scoring card
- Work with contractors, college construction services project managers and internal staff providing detailed technical and operational direction on project tasks and challenges
- Work to resolve conflicts resulting from miscommunication, misunderstandings and misalignments of expectations between Conestoga College and contractors
- Escalate unresolved points of contention to management
- Work alongside AV and IT contractors during the installation and commissioning stages, offering technical guidance and input on task prioritization
- Perform regular construction site progress inspections in areas concerning IT and reports deficiencies
- Create an equipment BOM and review with IT Management
- Work with technology vendors to obtain IT equipment quotes based on the BOM and project schedule; Submit purchase requests for management approval and assist with the logistics for the delivery of IT equipment to warehouses and project job sites
- Provide input on timelines, resource allocations and task priorities and recommend possible solutions to problems encountered on the job site
- Review and provide feedback on the approval of contractor draw down reports
- Assist in the development of risk assessment and suggest adjustments to project plans when needed to ensure projects are completed on schedule
- Assist to resolve project issues and risks, help to investigate and resolve complaints, address inquiries and discuss requests for change
- Assist with the teardown, installation and commissioning of IT equipment including but not limited to A/V components, computers, printers, docking stations, monitors, and phones
- Reserve IPs for AV equipment (Extron and Epson devices) and control units to set up in IT projects; Help to configure and test this AV equipment, making sure all cables and interfaces are set up correctly
- Travel to multiple sites is required to deliver equipment, site inspections, and for daily tasks

Qualifications:

- Three-year Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology or related field of study
- Minimum five years of experience with IT technology installation, service and support, including three years of project ownership experience working onsite with contractors in construction zones for IT deployment is required
