**About the Donor Relations Coordinator position**:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Annual Giving, the Donor Relations Coordinator will contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of impeccable donor engagement, cultivation, stewardship and recognition activities and initiatives.

Guided by a strong donor-centered philosophy, as the Donor Relations Coordinator, you will work collaboratively with the extended Fund Development team and others across the organization to create effective donor communication and engagement initiatives that will ultimately foster positive long-term donor relationships. This will include recognition, digital and traditional donor communications, interactions and engagement and stewardship opportunities.

You are truly inspired by how our donors are advancing access to heath care for those in need across Canada, and can convey this to supporters in mass and 1:1 settings.

You will play a pivotal role in cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with our donors, ensuring their continued engagement and support by making them feel valued, appreciated, and connected to our organization's mission. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues to build a thoughtful stewardship strategy for a variety of audiences, testing new initiatives and learning from their performance over time to optimize results.

**Key Duties of the Role**:

- Prioritize the donor experience. You will build and nurture relationships with individual donors to foster long-term partnerships. You will gather donor feedback to understand their motivations and interests. You will maintain frequent, personalized, warm communication with current donors while working closely with the Prospect Research Officer identifying and securing opportunities for renewed funding at current or higher levels.
- Support the Senior Manager, Annual Giving and the Chief Development Officer on the development and execution of stewardship initiatives and strategies to support the organization’s donors in the areas of Broad base, Monthly, Mid Level and Major Gifts by implementing donor cultivation strategies to engage current and prospective donors. You will work closely with the fundraising team to strategize and execute donor engagement plans and stewardship activities to achieve our fundraising goals, including coordination of stewardship program, developing recognition materials, coordinating impact and gratitude messages.
- Support the planning and execution of select virtual and in-person donor relations led events or engagement opportunities.
- Work to ensure timelines for fulfillment, recognition and stewardship initiatives are met and donor deliverables are produced, reviewed, and approved.
- Draft, edit and/or proof copy for video scripts, donor stories, stewardship reports, speaking notes, correspondence, social media posts, and other donor feature materials. You will craft persuasive messages and documents, including thank-you letters, impact reports, and project updates highlighting the results of their philanthropic efforts and inspiring continued support.
- Maintain donor records in the database (Salesforce); proactively inputting notes, actions, proposals, gift agreements and reporting requirements into SF and ensuring information/actions are brought forward as needed.
- You will be trained to provide support to the Development and Systems Coordinator in processing donations, issuing and providing receipts to donors as required.
- You will maintain accurate and up-to-date donor information in the organization's donor database, ensuring compliance with relevant fundraising regulations,
- Assist with Database clean-up as needed.
- Keep track of Tribute donations, with consideration to a specific stewardship and engagement strategy for tribute donors.

**Required Skills and Competencies**:

- An Associate Certificate in Fundraising or Post Secondary education in related field: non-profit management, communications, marketing, or a blend of relevant experience and education
- Three years of related experience in a donor relations, fundraising or marketing/ communications environment.
- Excellent communications skills with an ability to communicate effectively in written correspondence (draft, proof, and edit a range of written materials), over the phone and in-person with donors.
- Professional demeanor with an ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and with discretion.
