**DEPARTMENT SUMMARY**

St. Michael's Hospital Foundation (SMHF) is the exclusive fundraising organization to generate and manage philanthropic funds for St. Michael’s Hospital and Providence Healthcare, within Unity Health Toronto. Through multiple lines of fundraising income generation and stewardship activity, SMHF, in conjunction with Unity Health, will define and promote the St. Michael’s and Providence brands to maximize philanthropic revenue to fuel their healthcare, research, teaching and health equity missions. We will inspire our communities, local, provincial, national and international, to invest in our organizations’ priorities to drive and implement innovation that will equitably support all members of our society to manage and overcome disease and health crises and live healthier lives to create a more inclusive and thriving society. The Officer, Stewardship and Donor Relations, willwork closely with the Director, Stewardship and Donor Relations and colleagues across the organization to strengthen operations and support the implementation of a comprehensive stewardship and recognition program and a variety of donor-centered initiatives across St. Michael’s Foundation and Providence Healthcare. This work will focus on delivering strategic stewardship and donor recognition offerings as well as support foundation operations within the Foundation to elevate the experience of donors to St. Michael’s Hospital and Providence Healthcare.

**RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES**

**Stewardship and Donor Relations Activities**:

- Work closely with the Director, Stewardship and Donor Relations on the development and implementation of an impact reporting process across the Foundation;
- Collaborate with the Information Technology team as required to champion data integrity and support maintenance of required stewardship plans and recognition data and analytics;
- Support in the management of all donor lists including giving societies, annual lists and other as needed;
- Manage written stewardship communications as required including board reporting and activity calendars;
- Ensure all donors coded within the stewardship category are being actioned and moved through the system accordingly;
- Manage and execute stewardship and recognition strategies for the corporate donor portfolio
- Commit to ongoing professional development by participating in professional associations, attending professional meetings, and developing working relationships with professionals at other institutions;
- Promote a workplace environment that fosters collaboration, respect, and the pursuit of excellence;
- Act as an Ambassador throughout the Community, positively representing the Hospital and the Foundation;
- Abide by the policies and procedures of St. Michael’s Foundation;
- Perform other duties as assigned in order to meet the overall goals and objectives of the Foundation; and,
- Operate within the culture and core values of the organization.

**KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS**
- A bachelor’s degree or higher, PLUS a minimum of three years of experience within stewardship or customer service;
- Understanding of best practices in stewardship and donor relations;
- Strong project management, interpersonal and communication skills;
- The ability to think at a high level about Hospital and Foundation priorities; and,
- The ability to work proactively, managing competing priorities.
