Child Development Institute (CDI) is a leading children’s mental health agency in the City of Toronto offering a range of services to approximately 3,000 children ages 0‐12, youth ages 13-18 and their families each year. Our mission is to promote and support the healthy development of children and to strengthen the families and communities in which they live. We provide four streams of service to families in need: early intervention, family violence, healthy child development and specialized mental health services for children and youth with learning disabilities.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Donor Relations and Stewardship Officer to join CDI’s fundraising team.

**What the role is all about..**.

1. Donor Cultivation: Support Senior Manager, Development and Communications with implementation of donor cultivation strategies to engage current and prospective donors. Maintain relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors to foster long-term partnerships.

2. Stewardship: Maintain frequent, warm communication with current donors while identifying and securing opportunities for renewed funding at current or higher levels. Provide prompt, personalized acknowledgment and recognition to donors. Ensure that donors receive appropriate and timely feedback on the impact of their contributions.

3. Impact Reporting: Collaborate with program staff to gather data and stories that demonstrate the impact of donors' support. Prepare and distribute engaging impact reports to donors, highlighting the results of their philanthropic efforts.

4. Donor Communication: Create compelling communications, including thank-you letters, impact reports, and updates on projects. Craft persuasive messages that resonate with donors and inspire continued support.

5. Events and Engagement: Plan and coordinate donor engagement events, including appreciation gatherings, fundraising galas, and donor recognition activities.

6. Database Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor information in the organization's donor database. Track interactions and communication with donors to ensure effective relationship and stewardship management. Process donations, issue and provide receipts to donors.

7. Fundraising Campaigns: Collaborate with the fundraising team to develop and implement fundraising campaigns. Provide input on donor targeting, communication strategies, and stewardship activities.

8. Prospect Research: Conduct research on potential major donors and funding opportunities. Identify donor interests and align them with the organization's programs and initiatives.

9. Donor Feedback: Gather feedback from donors to understand their motivations and interests, adapting the organization's communication and engagement accordingly.

10. Compliance and Reporting: Support Senior Manager, Development and Communications with ensuring compliance with all relevant fundraising regulations and reporting requirements. Maintain accurate records of donor contributions and provide regular reports to the management team.

11. Other tasks as needed.

**What we hope you will bring**

▪ A University or College Diploma in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or a related field
▪ 2+ years of proven experience in donor relations, fundraising, or a similar role within the nonprofit sector

**Skills, Attributes and Abilities**

▪ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for crafting compelling messages.
▪ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with donors and stakeholders.
▪ Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
▪ Proficient with MS Office Suite (intermediate in MS Excel).
▪ Possess strong verbal and written communication.
▪ Demonstrated ability to multitask, probe, analyze and problem solve issues.
▪ A passion for the organization's mission and a genuine interest in engaging donors with the cause
▪ Ability to work collaboratively as part of a fundraising tea.
▪ Knowledge of fundraising best practices, ethics, and compliance standards
▪ Be a dedicated and flexible team player able to interact with team members, and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
▪ Demonstrated ability to work in a respectful manner with groups from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

▪ Governed by concurrent and dynamic deadlines, despite conflicting priorities and frequent interruptions.

▪ Occasional travel to other CDI locations.
▪ Fast-paced work environment.

▪ Required to work flex hours to meet deadlines.
