About the Role

SickKids Foundation is seeking an exceptional professional to fill the position of Associate Director, Stewardship and Donor Relations. This role will play a critical part in developing and executing a leading stewardship function to nurture meaningful relationships with our donors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Stewardship and Donor Relations team, leading a dedicated team of stewardship professionals who deliver programs and services to all business units.
  • Oversee stewardship account management, directing work across the team, and directly plan and execute stewardship for transformational gifts donors.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership and teams across the organization to develop and deliver customized donor recognition and stewardship opportunities that meet the specific needs of donors and donor agreements.
  • Ensure successful planning and delivery of Impact Reporting and Endowment Reporting for all eligible donors.
  • Ensure successful execution of all commitments in written Gift Agreements, overseeing coordination of drafting and approval of all Gift Agreements.
  • Manage all donor recognition societies and donor listings and related communications.
  • Support execution of fundraising and engagement programs, such as Innovators, Breakthrough, and WomenPowered.
  • Oversee strategic development of digital and physical recognition opportunities, managing the approval process for appropriate naming opportunities, and the inventory of opportunities available and committed.
  • Collaborate with Communications and Public Affairs for promotion and public announcements of significant gifts to the Hospital.
  • Support the donor proposal process, including ideation, coordination, and review of donor recognition opportunities.
  • Play a leadership role in developing enhanced opportunities for stewardship, championing innovation and new ideas to build donor engagement.
  • Collaborate with Events team and fundraisers in the conception, planning, and execution of donor stewardship and recognition events.
  • Ensure the delivery of the Foundation-wide Donor Recognition framework, including donor experience guide, naming opportunities, and all associated policies and processes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, standards, and processes within Stewardship and Donor Relations.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to staff, including career planning, evaluation of performance, succession planning, and mentoring.
  • Systematically track and schedule all stewardship and donor recognition requirements.
  • Ensure that our Donor Management System (KYDs) is fully utilized by the team to effectively enter, track, and retrieve stewardship and donor relations information.
  • Responsibility for development of the annual Stewardship operating plan, budget, and resource planning.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development by participating in professional associations, attending professional meetings, and developing working relationships with professionals at other institutions.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, including fundraisers, volunteers, and Hospital.
  • Collect comparative data and program information for the purposes of evaluation, benchmarking, and as a source of new ideas.
  • Lead or support strategic projects, as necessary.
  • Be an effective team player and adhere to the Foundation values and policies.
