Business Development Sales Representative

**Summary**
Reporting to the VP Growth & Strategic Partners, the Business Development Sales Representative at Norseman Structures, you will be responsible for driving revenue by managing the full sales cycle—from lead generation to closing deals. This role combines both outbound prospecting and managing relationships with high-value clients. You will work closely with potential customers to understand their needs and offer Norseman’s ShelterSolutions as tailored, fit-for-purpose products that align with their business requirements.
This role requires an entrepreneurial spirit, strong relationship-building skills, and a deep understanding of Norseman’s products, including pre-engineered building structures and accessory offerings.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
**Lead Generation & Qualification**
- Qualify leads through understanding client needs and alignment with Norseman’s ShelterSolution offerings.
- Maintain and grow a pipeline of prospects, nurturing relationships to move opportunities through the sales funnel.
**Sales Execution**
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets, focusing on both dealer networks and direct customers.
- Conduct product presentations, virtual demos, and site visits as needed to showcase the value of Norseman products.
- Prepare and deliver customized proposals to clients based on their business needs and regulatory requirements (engineered or non-engineered structures).
**Customer Relationship Management**
- Build strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction from initial inquiry through post-sale follow-up.
- Act as the key point of contact for customers, managing any questions, concerns, or feedback they may have.
- Maintain frequent contact with customers to ensure repeat business and explore upsell opportunities.
**Contract Negotiation & Closing**
- Develop pricing strategies and negotiate terms with clients to finalize sales agreements.
- Support the transition of secured projects to internal execution teams by assisting with contract review and arranging project kick-off meetings with the customer.
**Collaboration & Reporting**
- Work closely with Operations, Marketing, and Construction teams to align strategies, campaigns, and product offerings with customer needs.
- Update the CRM (Salesforce) with detailed notes, sales forecasts, and deal progress to ensure accurate sales tracking.
- Provide weekly and monthly sales performance reports to Sales Director and participate in regular strategy sessions.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Degree or Diploma in Business or related discipline required.
- 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in a B2B environment or with technical products.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience in industries such as Mining, Agriculture, Construction, or Oil & Gas is an asset.
- Familiarity with pre-engineered or custom-building solutions.
- Experience in technical or engineering sales.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical requirements to clients.
- Knowledge of the construction or shelter solution market in North America.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with CRM systems, ideally Salesforce.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Negotiation skills and a consultative selling approach.
