**Role Summary**:
This position is a newly created position and is responsible for the direct management and handling of pricing for ocean freight, project department prospects and other departments associated with Canaan Services. This includes providing spot rates for specific shipments and quotations for general requirements; negotiating with carriers for non-contract rates; and updating of the company’s internal systems including various platforms. The Inside Sales and Pricing associate is expected to be a proven professional as it pertains to their knowledge with respect to the local internal and external environments in the jurisdiction they are working from and to provide guidance, strategy, and alternatives to clients and internal team to ensure pricing is provided swiftly, competitively and with a mutual benefit to both the client/agent and Canaan.
**Position**: Full-time, permanent
**Hours**: Flexible between 7:00am - 6:00pm
**Location**: Richmond, BC
**Compensation**: $60,000/year
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with sales and management teams with monitoring on inquiries/opportunities using our internal CRM system
- Enter and keep track of all inquiries, opportunities, and communications in Sales Force CRM and other IT platforms.
- Send all appropriate quotations to existing and new clients, agents, and other web inquiries.
- Will be responsible for maintaining rates for ocean department for Canada and USA
- Responsible for rate inquiries
- Communicate regularly with Ocean Carriers for non-contract rates and spot rates, vendors, and other service providers to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
- Maintain database on all pricing (28 - 30 contracts)
- Responsible for online pricing platforms
- Work with our sales staff across Canada and USA providing price quotations
**Requirements/Qualifications**:
- 3+ Years of Industry experience is a requirement.
- Excellent English communication skills both verbal and written.
- Detail oriented in order to capture all information for the pricing matrix.
- Willingness to learn and ask questions.
- Enjoy weekly and daily challenges.
- Entrepreneurial, competitive, self-confident, and self-motivated
- Positive attitude, friendly, outgoing personality
- Proven strong negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of basic economic, budgeting, and accounting principles and practices
- Familiar with Wise Tech Global, Microsoft Products, and Salesforce
