- Reporting to the Vendor Quality Coordinator, the Vendor Claims Administrator will be responsible for assisting the coordinator by compiling information to support vendor claims in a timely manner. _
- **Minimum Requirements**_

- Organized and efficient with a high sense of urgency.
- Business degree / diploma or technical degree / diploma an asset.
- Basic knowledge of selling, margin, and profit.
- Basic math skills using imperial and metric systems.
- Excellent communication skills via telephone, in writing, and in person.
- Ability to build relationships while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong product knowledge with a minimum of 1 year of flat roll experience preferably in a Technical or Quality related role is considered an asset
- **Brief Overview of Responsibilities**_
- Organize vendor claims and present them to our vendors for review with the expectation that all vendor claims would be closed and completed within 30 days of initiation.
- Organize and hold meetings with our key vendors on a quarterly basis to review claim history, shipping performance and overall performance. This meeting should involve presenting key metric data for the period being reviewed.
- Vendor claims can occur from a variety of sources - from customers, our operations or from OFP (and possibly other sources). Once a claim situation is identified, the coordinator is responsible for obtaining all necessary information and evidence and preparing a package to send to the producing mill for review.
- Knowledge of each mill’s claim policy and acceptance criteria is critical for this role.
- The employee would also be able to support sales and purchasing with respect to decision making on mill extras and specifically what those extras translate to in terms of additional claim protection.
- This role will have administrative support that will require to be managed daily.
- The expectation is that on all claims, there is an effort to over recover costs
- Assist Sales, Technical Service and Quality group on determining containment for any significant issues - i.e. what other material should be put on hold pending further investigation.
- Disposition material that is on ICNs linked to VCR after claim is approved or when enough evidence has been provided to the Vendor.
- Any inspection activities related to a claim investigation will be organized by this employee.
- Monthly reporting on claim activity and success rate by mill will need to be developed and communicated monthly.
