- Reporting to the Director of Payroll and Benefits, the Payroll and Benefits Assistant will work with the payroll team to ensure the company's group benefits and pension plan administration and payroll processing are completed as accurately and timely as possible._

**Responsibilities**:

- Working together with payroll team assist with payroll processing and new hire onboarding
- Play a backup role of new hires’ setup in ADP WFN each pay period
- Play a backup role of issuing electronic Record of Employment (ROE) in ADP WFN or CRA’s website
- Assist payroll team with reviewing, correcting and balancing payroll outputs
- Update and maintain PBC Benefits Master report as per enrollment timeline and keep up-to-date and accurate records
- Assess benefits eligibility for new PT employees by tracking weekly work hours on the PBC Benefits master report
- Enroll employees in group benefits plan on insurance carrier’s online portal in timely manner and ensure accuracy
- Updating and monitoring benefits taxable amount and benefit tax code in payroll system.
- Answer employees’ inquiries on benefits enrollment forms and respond to employee’s inquire about dependent other personal changes
- Assist annual merit increases and update new wage/salary on PBC member portal.
- Distribute and maintain record of Student Dependent Confirmation letters in time
- Collect and track benefits premiums payments for employees on leave of absence once extension of benefits approved by PBC
- Track Open Enrollment procedure and confirm Statement of Health form has been submitted to PBC
- Prepare monthly PBC billings and submit payments requests to accounting teams upon Director’s signature
- Update and reconcile Optional benefits monthly payroll deductions
- Manage group RRSP/DPSP plan member enrollment and payroll deductions as per providers’ report
- Assist with preparing employer form for Long Term Disability claims for employees on medical leave
- Run ADP Benefits Hourly report and track hourly employees’ benefits eligibility and make appropriate changes basing on insurance policy.
- Run Worker Comp report and maintain benefits status accuracy in Worker Comp field in ADP.
- Assist with preparing various payroll and benefits reports for stakeholders
- Maintain WCB and PBC correspondence files and ensure duly documentation,
- Create WCB quarterly clearance letter and submit to internal stakeholders; Update WCB claims tracking report when needed
- Assist with issuing employment letter for employees and preparing payroll records for solicitors
- Update Payroll schedules on ADP Homepage per by-weekly
- Assist with telephones and other miscellaneous office duties
- Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing

Qualifications and Education
- Certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner with the National Payroll Institute or working toward the designation
- Minimum one year of experience payroll, benefits, human resources, or accounting
- Experience with maintaining group benefits plan an asset
- Experience with group RRSP/DPSP plan an asset
- Intermedium to advanced Excel skill an asset
- Excellent English language skills in both written and speaking

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
