A typical day for the Vendor Management Coordinator
- Collect and evaluate third-party risk management.
- Track third-party risk reporting, incorporate into contracts and manage the coordination of appropriate business area reviews, deficiency tracking and risk mitigation reporting.
- Support vendor management reviews in conjunction with contract managers and key stakeholders.
- Evaluate vendors, gauge their quality of work, and assess vendor performance against organizational standards. Provide recommendations against disclosed risk, disruption, or loss of critical information and assets.
- Understand vendor operations, criticality, and alignment with disaster recovery plans.
- Build long-term alliances and strengthen partnerships through relationship management.
- Establish adequate and effective contract management and procurement procedures to improve corporate operating activities.
- Administer the tendering process, develop request for proposal documents and provide consultation to contract managers and key stakeholders.
- Provide regular briefings to senior leadership to keep them current with changes and performance against existing agreements with vendors.
- Understand contractual terms and conditions and their commercial implications to the business to effectively manage vendor agreements and relationships
- Represent the needs of the business during vendor negotiations.
- Conduct regular audits of vendor invoices and facilitate the resolution or escalation of invoices or credit-related issues in accordance with contract terms and conditions.
- Analyze key performance indicators to measure vendor performance.

What you bring
- Degree in MIS, business administration, management, economics or related and 5 years directly related experience.
- Experience working in a multi-vendor IT, shared services, or operations environment.
- Licensing or certification for vendor management, supply chain management or related, such as CVM, CPVM, SCMP, PMAC, ITILV4, ISAE.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and resolution of issues in a cross functional environment is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience developing, implementing and managing IT vendor performance, projects, and relationships.
- Alberta trade agreement knowledge.
- Alberta tendering and request for proposal development experience.
