The Innovation team at DCS leads many strategic and transformative projects across the department and government. Our collaborative work involves the design and implementation of significant program and service improvements and digital service delivery that anticipates and responds to the needs of the people we support.

We are recruiting a leader who has a passion for the work we do and for ensuring our team has the optimal conditions for success. You understand how to guide people through change, embrace different styles, and incorporate unique approaches to achieve goals.

As the Manager, Innovation, you will work closely with the Senior Director, Innovation as part of the Leadership Team. You will have a central role in supporting the integration of work across our two units; Enterprise Project Delivery and Service Excellence / Digital Strategy.

You will help manage a team of project management and business analyst professionals, create and improve processes and tools for project and resource management, and guide the critical administrative, staffing and budget management aspects of Innovation’s work. This position is unique within the division, and you will have ample opportunity to participate actively in shaping its functions and impact as our team continues to expand and evolve.

**Primary Accountabilities**:
As the Manager, you will_ _develop and deliver plans and strategies that contribute to the strategic outcomes for the department. You will mentor, coach, and monitor your team to ensure priorities and objectives are met and in alignment with the interests and objectives of the Department and overall Government strategy. You’ll play a key role in designing, testing and assessment project management approaches and tools used by the Innovation team in providing excellent service.

You will be responsible for allocating and utilizing resources efficiently and maintaining a collaborative, motivated and successful team. This includes, but is not limited to_ s_etting and evaluating staff performance targets, promoting diversity and a healthy workplace, demonstrating leadership competencies, respecting corporate human resources practices, promoting teamwork and individual development, maintaining internal communications, and monitoring expenditures while adhering to procurement guidelines.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
You have completed a related post-secondary degree combined with several years of related management experience. You will also have:

- Experience as an inspirational leader and actively promoting the importance of teams, diversity and a thriving work culture.
- Experience with Contract Management, Budgets, and the ability to effectively manage human resources.
- Effective, articulate and persuasive communication abilities (written and verbal).
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite and project management software and tools to effectively coordinate and track objectives.
- The ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Excellent collaboration skills and a knack for building relationships, at all levels.
- A solid understanding of change management practices and how to support integration across diverse portfolios and projects.

Experience with case management systems as well as PROSCI certification will be considered assets.
