Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) provides sustainable safe and high quality health services that are accessible, people-centred, promote health and wellness and optimize the health of all Nova Sco-tians. **About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Innovation, this position is responsible for supporting the long range strategic plan for Research, Innovation and Discovery in Nova Scotia as it relates to Innovation. The Director will be expected to develop short and long term strategies (including financial and government relations) to promote, partnerships and collaboration with NSHA, public and private sectors and implement large scale, complex initiatives to transform health care in Nova Scotia.

The position requires a combination of an understanding of clinical opportunities and business acumen. The Director must be able to build external relationships with industry and government, particularly those elements of government responsible for health, long term care and economic development. It also requires the ability to build partnerships between clinical service units, and between NSHA and its other partners. The Director will be responsible to provide advice and support for the activities of the Senior Director of Innovation, and the Vice President, Research, Innovation and Discovery.

The Director provides leadership and supports strategies and operational plans that are consistent with policy, accountability frameworks and the mission, vision and values of the organization and the Health Innovation Hub. He/she supports a provincially integrated process and contributes to the design and development of comprehensive human resource and organizational performance strategies and business practices to support the effective, efficient and sustainable delivery of services and programs.

The Director ensures continuous improvement to advance a vision of excellence within his/her areas of responsibility and is accountable for the development, maintenance and monitoring of quality pro-grams, and compliance with relevant legislation, standards and accreditation requirements. The Director facilitates and champions a learning and research environment that aligns with Nova Scotia Health Authority, and works closely with education institutions, government and other partners on the preparation of our health workforce.
