**What you’ll be a part of**

Health and Safety
- Actively take part in the implementation of the Health and Safety program, in conjunction with the Health and Safety Officer
- Assist in the planning and implementation of safety orientations, safety training, job site inspections and reporting
- Perform job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, written reports and recommendations
- Create safe work plans for various job sites
- Assist the Health and Safety Officer with administrative and/or clerical duties related to safety
- Planning and coordinating clearance checks, criminal record checks, and any other checks that might be required for certain job sites
- Planning and coordinating blood tests and drug & alcohol tests for employees as required for certain job sites
- Assist in the investigation and reporting of accidents/incidents

Recruitment and Onboarding
- Strategically plan for the organization's human capital needs, in concert with other managers
- Developing job postings
- Pre-screening of resumes and applicants
- Scheduling and performing interviews and conducting reference checks
- Updating job advertisements, interview guides and interview processes
- Write employee contracts and letters of offer
- Provide general onboarding to all new office hires.

Compensation and Benefits
- Administration and organization of the salary increase process, including merit increases, promotions, market research and adjustments and other wage related activities in coordination with the finance team and each companies’ management team
- Coordinating with payroll to ensure the efficient flow of new hire paperwork, transfers, promotions, and terminations, maintaining HR employee files, etc.
- Administering pension and benefit plans and being a source for employees with questions
- Overseeing all employee time off requests, HRIS functionality and statutory holidays or office closures

Performance Management and Employee Relations
- Advising and assisting managers on interpretation and administration of RCGI’s group of companies’ guidelines, policies, collective agreements, and programs
- Assisting managers in addressing performance issues and identifying team member development requirements
- Providing support to supervisors and managers in performance management processes
- Researching Human Resources best practices and updating the business on provincial and human rights legislative changes
- Remaining current with new HR practices, management philosophies, techniques, and tools
- Preparing employee disciplinary documentation, termination letters; ensuring requests are processed in a timely and accurate manner
- Negotiate bargaining agreements and help interpret labour contracts

General Responsibilities
- Providing excellent service to internal and external customers on all HR and Safety inquiries and requests
- Providing leadership for certain aspects of office management
- Collaboration within the HR Committee; contributing to overall strategy and leading projects/initiatives
- Other duties may be assigned as required

**What you bring**
- 2 or more years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Safety, Business, Commerce, or other relevant discipline
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, strong attention to detail and proven teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Understanding and use of tact, discretion, and confidentiality in all interactions
- Ability to work autonomously
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of current Microsoft products
- CPHR designation or working towards designation is considered an asset
- Previous experience in construction is considered an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
