**Position Overview**

Reporting to the Principal Investigator.

The Program Coordinator position will primarily involve work on two studies focused on improving obstetric and neonatal outcomes:
The Provincial Surveillance Program for Moderate to Severe Neonatal Hypoxic-ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE), which is an implementation program involving quality improvement and research with targeted education and knowledge translation with the aim to reduce the occurrence of HIE in the province.

The P3 Cohort, which is a research study that is looking to recruit 4000 pregnant women and their partners to take part in a longitudinal study. The overall aims of the study are to better predict which women will deliver preterm and test different interventions to prevent preterm birth, and to improve outcomes for preterm infants and their families.

**Position Description**

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):

- In collaboration with the Principal Investigators, coordinate all aspects of a provincial surveillance program, evaluating quality assurance, improvement and research activities and recommending improvements when appropriate
- Responsible for coordinating research nurses and liaising with health records staff across the province
- Design educational programs and prepare reports
- Develop project timelines, monitor and control of project deadlines and outcomes
- Recruitment of study participants
- Pilot questionnaires, send out questionnaires, follow-up on the completion of questionnaires, screen questionnaires and call to invite research participants to be part of one of the substudies
- Distribute posters and postcards to locations around the city, and pick up completed postcards
- Ensure secure data management
- Help with hiring and onboarding students and other study personnel

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences
- Minimum of 3 years related experience
- Experience creating educational and training programs is an asset
- Ability to plan and direct quality assurance, quality improvement, research and administrative activities within a team environment
- Ability to provide support to other members of the team
- Ability to solve complex problems
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint) and Photoshop
- Tri Council Policy Statement (TCPS 2) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in budgeting and resource planning
- Demonstrated ability in professional writing and preparing reports
- Knowledge of the University of Calgary core business systems is an asset
- Access to a vehicle on occasion will be required as there will be some travel between sites in Calgary
