Program Manager, Community and In Home Programs

Reporting to the Managing Director, Community and In-Home Programs, this position is responsible for providing leadership and day-to-day support to the service delivery team that works directly with families to coordinate and deliver services in such a way that achieves program objectives and deliverables and the best possible outcomes for families and children.

As a member of the Management team the Program Manager shares responsibility for identifying opportunities for improvement and contributing to the revision and development of operational processes and strategic priorities.

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday 37.5 hours/week, including availability for weekday 4-6pm (Monday to Thursday only) and some rare engagements later into evenings and on weekends
  • Hybrid role (home, community and in office), based out of the Pacekids North office ( 808 55th Ave NE Calgary, AB).

Responsibilities

  • Support success in meeting all deliverables outlined in our funding contracts.
  • Maintain awareness of all Community & In-Home Programs procedure and practices. Ensure understanding and implementation of procedures and practices by team. Identify opportunities for improvement and support development and revision of procedures and practices as required.
  • Provide recommendations and support work related to achievement of the strategic pan
  • Oversee caseload management activities and provide support to front line staff in caseload management and front-line service delivery.
  • Working collaboratively with the Management team to complete recruitment, onboarding, training, and support of new and existing team members. 
  • Help ensure a culture of mutual respect, collaboration and problem solving – leading by example, and identifying areas for additional training, team building or coaching support.

What You Bring

  • Experience working with preschool and school-aged children with disabilities.
  • Experience in a leadership role; including supervision responsibilities. 
  • Completion of post-secondary studies in social work, disability studies, human services or similar and experience working in a human service setting.
  • Preference given to education and/or experience in the disability sector and/or early childhood sector. 
    • Consideration will be given to candidates who do have not completed post-secondary studies but who have extensive relevant experience.
    • Current Alberta driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes
  • Clearance from a Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector check, as well as a Child Intervention Record Check. Must be current within the last six months; can be obtained upon hire within a designated time frame. 
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency using the full suite of Microsoft 365.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, self-initiate, be adaptable and flexible, professional, patience, maturity and tact.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, relationship, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage stressful situations. 
  • Desire to work with families who have children with disabilities.
