Position Description

As a member of the Global Strategy and International Business Development team you will Lead and develop business development activity in order to achieve regional operation plan commitments (orders) across a variety of different markets, with an interest to grow the General Dynamics Land Systems business. This role will work closely with various departments as well as other GDLS sites and is physically located in London, Ontario.

Key Job Elements:

- Lead Business Development activities to achieve strategic operational plans and commitments
- Seek out, identify, monitor, and assess market potential
- Shape, develop, and secure new business opportunities in the assigned markets
- Develop and implement regional strategies and pursuit plans to secure new opportunities
- Supporting the opportunity funnel and strategic planning activities of GDLS
- Develop, and create strategic relationships while ensuring current relationships flourish
- Network and create partnerships to identify and develop new business opportunities
- Define, develop and lead strategic projects while collaborating across the organization in both the creation of new business opportunities and the expansion current business activities
- Support, and at times lead, the capture and pursuit process including the development of proposals, pricing, teaming, and bid strategies that lead to successfully securing new opportunities
- Manage regional sales representatives and consultants.
- Responsible for ensuring various licenses, advocacy, and approvals are in place to support the marketing and promotion of GDLS products and services
- Conduct briefings to various government officials, clients, and lead the coordination of visits and demonstrations to perspective customers.
- Develop and monitor assigned Business Development budgets.
- Attend industry functions, including conferences and association events, and contribute information and feedback on upcoming market trends

Required Qualifications:

- University degree and/or relevant work experience
- Minimum 7-10 years related experience, including team leadership and IPT experience
- Proven ability to analyze complex issues and develop appropriate action plans
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, especially with customers’
- Ability to analyze interactions and use the appropriate communication strategies to maximize effective transfer of information and concepts to the target audience
- Experience leading/influencing teams and/or people
- Proven ability to understand, clarify, and follow trade, legal and corporate compliance to laws, agreements as well as corporate agreements and policies
- Ability to travel globally (up to 50%) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
