Western Continuing Studies (WCS) is the educational bridge between Western University and the global community serving learners from London and Southwestern Ontario to Québec and beyond.
**Responsibilities**:
The Manager, International Recruitment will oversee the recruitment of prospective international students to Western Continuing Studies 2-year post-graduate programs and will collaborate with the Western English Language Centre (WELC) for shared recruitment initiatives, where appropriate, ensuring that the most highly qualified international students are recruited to the University. The Manager will research and visit key recruitment regions and will possess a current knowledge of emerging markets to meet specific recruitment targets. The Manager will develop and maintain ongoing relationships with strategic schools, students and other relevant stakeholders such as Alumni, Recruitment Representatives, Marketing Firms and the Trade Commissioners Service. The Manager will also facilitate the development, implementation, and management of strategies for the recruitment of international students to Western Continuing Studies, with a focus on increasing the diversity of international applicants and students at Western.
**Qualifications**:
- Education:
- Undergraduate degree in business, international business, public policy, marketing, or a related field
**Experience**:
- 5 years' experience in an academic institution working in an international recruitment, marketing, or communications role, or providing support for international students
- Previous experience working with a culturally diverse client base
- Experience in contract negotiation and international business development
- Experience working with international students and knowledge of procedures required of incoming international students
- Experience working in an international recruitment role at a school of continuing education, English language program or related field preferred

- An entrepreneurial and strategic mindset
- Fluency in a second language would be an asset
- Cross-cultural competency with an ability to interact and work effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds with the capacity to consider issues from the perspective of others
- Experience working within a continuing education unit, particularly in a fast paced, cost recovery environment
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, delivered across diverse audiences
- A collaborative, team mindset with a focus on relationships and innovation
- Ability to work independently and maintain direction and focus through proactive planning and organized approaches to work
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, and DestinyOne preferred
- Presentation skills to deliver engaging and informative presentations that clearly explain information to audiences using appropriate communication channels
- Ability to work in a manner that models best practices in confidentiality standards
- Ability to maintain a positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
- Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
- Self-directed, and comfortable exercising discretion and independent judgment in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to plan and manage events of assorted sizes; familiarity with large-scale events an asset
- Proven ability and natural inclination to develop relationships by interacting with people in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner
- Ability to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate the University’s events, activities and regional work practices/holiday schedules
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally; must have a valid passport in respect of all visa requirements
