**Basic Purpose**:
Reporting to the Director of Dinner Theatre the Hostess/Host provides quality service to dinner theatre guests by greeting and seating them as well as maintaining the lobby area of the theatre

**Major Responsibilities and Duties (to fulfill major purpose)**:

- Meet and exceed guest and team member expectations by providing superior service and teamwork
- Provide value added service by doing whatever reasonable and possible to meet or exceed customer expectations
- Communicate effectively with guests, co-workers and supervisors
- Demonstrate teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed
- Ensure coat check area is neat and organized, all coats are tagged, and correct payment is received
- Greet guests promptly and meet superior service standards
- Monitor guest decorum with regards to noise levels, photography, and cell phone usage during performances and provide corrective action as needed
- Ensure that the dinner theatre is in welcoming condition for arrival of customers which includes proper placement of napkins, cutlery, and glassware on tables
- Contribute to guest satisfaction by courteously greeting and escorting them to their seats, while recognizing repeat guests
- Exhibit knowledge of current show and upcoming performances
- Acquire a working knowledge of hotel, in-house facilities and local information to respond to customer questions in these areas as required
- Send all Lost & Found items to Front Desk for logging and storage
- Inquire into level of customer satisfaction and attempt to rectify any complaints and/or refer to the Dinner Theatre Operations Manager
- Follow hotel grooming and dress standards
- Keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance
- Immediately notify manager and emergency response services and take appropriate actions in emergency situations
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position
- Perform other duties as required to provide superior service and teamwork
- Maintain a favourable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious work environment
- Project a favourable image of SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts to the public at all times

**Working Conditions:Experience, Training and Education (demonstrating requirements)**:

- Evening, weekend and holiday hours as required
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
- First Aid certification
- Minimum 1 year guest service experience preferred

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $15.68 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 19 per week
