**About Us**:
The Office of the Registrar supports students’ academic pursuits as well as Western’s strategic priorities by delivering an array of integrated services in a professional environment, while maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of student information throughout the student lifecycle.

**Responsibilities**:

- The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for carrying out human resources functions within the Office of the Registrar with a focus on staff recruitment and retention. Reporting to the Human Resources Specialist, the incumbent will facilitate the implementation of human resources practices, policies and procedures, and provide guidance to hiring managers on proposed recruitment strategies. The incumbent will act as a resource and ensure that human resources functions are implemented in accordance with Western policies, procedures, collective agreements and government legislation. The Human Resources Coordinator is a first point of contact and is accountable for resolving issues and responding to inquiries.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- Undergraduate Degree in Human Resources field
- Completion or working towards CHRP is preferred
- Experience:
- 2 year of experience in an office environment
- Experience in Human Resources role in an unionized environement is preferred
- Skills, Abilities & Expertise:

- Knowledge of general office procedures- Familiarity with Human Resources principles and practices
- Verbal communication skills to translate information into easily understood terms, summarize information, and provide a rationale for action
- Communication skills to write clearly, and adapt communication style and content for intended audiences in a professional manner
- Ability to work in a manner that models best practices in confidentiality standards
- Customer service skills with a desire to achieve results in a professional and timely manner
- Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
- Possess a reputation for resourcefulness with a strong sense of accountability and initiative
- Ability and willingness to stay abreast of technological developments
- Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work
- Adapts readily and effectively to changing priorities and demands
- Ability to take responsibility for own work and ensure that deadlines are met and outcomes are achieved
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to understand, interpret, and effectively communicate University guidelines, policies and practices to key stakeholders
- Ability to identify opportunities for improvement, while being open to trying new ideas and working methods
- Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty, and other members of the University community
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
