**Responsibilities**:
Western University has a large and diverse workforce with 12 employee groups (Unions and Associations) across campus. The Human Resources Coordinator will carry out a broad range of human resources functions and facilitate the implementation of human resources practices, policies and programs to support Western in its labour and employee relations activities. The role will support the development and implementation of processes to support legal processes, negotiations and other related Human Resources projects. The role will manage working relationships with Human Resource partners and union leaders, develop strategic and proactive communication and research, provide up-to-date file management, meeting coordination, project management, documentation and timely and resourceful problem solving.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Undergraduate Degree with a major in Business Administration, Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related field
- Completion or working towards your CHRP is preferred

**Experience**:

- 2 years’ experience in an administrative role supporting human resources functions
- Experience in a unionized environment is preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices, Employment Standards Act, and other relevant legislation
- Communication skills to translate information into easily understood terms, summarize information, and provide a rationale for action
- Ability to work in a manner that models best practices in confidentiality standards
- Customer service skills with a desire to achieve results in a professional and timely manner
- Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
- Ability and willingness to stay abreast of technological developments
- Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work
- Adapts readily and effectively to changing priorities and demands
- Ability to take responsibility for own work and ensure that deadlines are met and outcomes are achieved
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to understand, interpret, and effectively communicate University guidelines, policies and practices to key stakeholders
- Ability to identify opportunities for improvement, while being open to trying new ideas and working methods
