About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Clinical networks, Integrated Access and Flow and working closely with the Senior Medical Director, the Manager, Planning, Development, and System Performance, is a leader in the Network structure. This position enables and supports the development of strategic initiatives including championing business cases that support excellence in care delivery, improvement in health outcomes, achievement of standards of care, and goals established by Nova Scotia Health and the Department of Health and Wellness.

The Manager oversees network team members to ensure continuous improvement to advance a vision of innovation and academic excellence within the provision of care and champions a learning and research environment across the province that aligns with the current and proposed future state of Nova Scotia Health. The role supports the development of Network strategic directions, fosters Network membership and is responsible for the identification, implementation and day to day management of priority initiatives that align with NSH priorities and business case funding.

Responsibilities include the development, maintenance and monitoring of team roles, Provincial Policies and SOP's, Standards and accreditation requirements as well as the design and implementation of quality improvement and safety initiatives to support care providers and leaders across NSH.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health related discipline
  • Master's Degree in a health related discipline, health administration, business administration or related subject
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Minimum of 5-7 years working experience and responsibilities in a senior leadership or management position
  • Eligible for registration with relevant health discipline/college or association
  • Certified Health Executive designation is an asset
  • Sound knowledge and skillful application of quality improvement principles and approaches
  • Demonstrates high degree of independent decision-making, self-direction, motivation, change management knowledge and team building/leadership skills
  • Proven project management experience
  • Strategic planning and systems thinking
About You Cont.
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, delivery and evaluation of health care service initiatives
  • Experience in program and service development, implementation and evaluation required
  • Experience in financial planning
  • Experience within a health-related environment preferred
  • Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Benefits

$ $64.00 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan. (Permanent Long Assignments Only)
