Position Overview
The Quality, Innovation, Research, and Training portfolio is tasked with leading and supporting the execution of strategic initiatives within the IWK's Mental Health and Addictions framework. Reporting directly to the Manager of Quality, Innovation, Research, and Training, the Consultant for Planning and Improvement will serve as an internal advisor, responsible for orchestrating and coordinating strategic planning efforts and implementing complex program changes aimed at enhancing mental health services.
Work Schedule
Standard hours: Monday to Friday; 75 hours bi-weekly
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Health Services Administration, Health Information Management, Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering is required.
- A Master's degree in a related field is considered an asset.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in leading strategic or performance improvement projects is required.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of program and strategic planning processes.
- Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, relational databases, visual management software, project management tools, and simulation modeling software.
- Demonstrated expertise in LEAN methodologies, project management, and change management.
- Strong understanding of evaluation design and methodologies.
- Experience in data management, analysis, and statistical methods.
- Familiarity with Mental Health and Addictions services and the broader health system.
- Exceptional team-building and group facilitation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate discussions effectively.
- High level of initiative, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
