Field Service Representative

The Field Service Representative (Controls) will be responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, and documenting control programs for custom automation equipment. They will program control systems using PLC's, PC's, servo drives, robots, and specialized controllers. Skilled in troubleshooting electrical controls and mechanical mechanisms, the candidate must be well-organized and self-disciplined, working effectively with minimal supervision. Field Service Representatives (FSR's) will rotate between service work and system build processes to become subject matter experts supporting customers throughout their system's life cycle.
Responsibilities- Develop and program software specific to customer requirements.
- Troubleshoot controls and electrical equipment at customer facilities.
- Report abnormal equipment conditions and make necessary adjustments.
- Work independently or as part of a team.
- Travel to domestic and international customer locations.
- Lead on-site teams and liaise with customers and project managers.
- Complete detailed service reports.
- Be on call on a rotational basis.
- Facilitate warranty/non-warranty claims with customers.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Education: A post-secondary diploma or degree in programming/electrical engineering or equivalent. Database/Robot/Vision experience is a plus. Experience: Minimum four years in automation/control environment. Proficient in PLC programming using Allen Bradley or Siemens software. Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to troubleshoot systems quickly. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
