About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Sales Representative will also build a strong relationship with Operations leveraging the tremendous knowledge base across the company. Harnessed with this knowledge, the Sales Representative will proactively reach out to potential clients through a combination of warm leads and cold outreach. Clients can be acquired across North America offering a tremendous opportunity to grow a large book of business. Attending industry events and meaningful networking opportunities is highly encouraged. Relationship building expertise, resiliency, having a strong sense of urgency, and providing exceptional customer service are required to be successful in this role. To ensure their staff are industry experts, they provide exceptional in-house training as well as continuing education courses related to the industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the freight forwarding and logistics market.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business growth and profitability.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients to ensure repeat business.
  • Understand client needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their logistics requirements.
  • Handle client inquiries, provide quotations, and negotiate contracts effectively.
  • Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to potential clients, highlighting the benefits of our freight forwarding services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (operations, customer service, etc.) to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline management using CRM software.
  • Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, regulations, and best practices.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the company's services.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 4+ years of sales experience selling freight forwarding or logistics services preferred
  • Proven track record of meeting and/or exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in MS Office and CRM software
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
