We are recruiting for a Director, Commercial Sales to establish a strong footprint across Canada for Commercial Insurance Products.

SCB is strongly represented in the Group Benefits market by professional advisors and consultants across Canada and now this is your opportunity to join the newest growth segment as we expand into the Commercial Insurance market.

This is a fully remote role with the opportunity to work remote or out of one of our local offices if you prefer (Vancouver, BC; Red Deer, AB; Toronto, ON; or Halifax, NS). From time to time, you may be requested to attend meetings or functions within Canada or potentially outside of Canada.

Core Responsibilities (not limited to):
  1. Play a key role in building the processes and controls for sales and services of the new commercial lines.
  2. Prospect and customer engagement and development in the commercial line of business where your license permits.
  3. Manage the entire sales process for your prospects, from initial contact to closing deals and fostering long-term client relationships.
  4. Understand client needs and present tailored solutions, effectively demonstrating the value of our insurance products and services.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless implementation and delivery of solutions to clients meets with the requirements for the P&C line of business.
  6. Collaborate with internal senior stakeholders to ensure that the correct infrastructure is in place to support the needs of the P&C line of business.
  7. Ensure all regulatory requirements are met and comply with all internal policies and procedures.
  8. Review client exposures, loss experience, current coverages, and recommend appropriate products and services.
  9. Keep organized records and track progress toward business goals and quotas using Salesforce.
  10. You will receive cross-selling leads from a variety of sources (BDR’s, Marketing, Partnerships), but will also be expected to generate new business opportunities as well.
To be successful in this role you will require:
  1. CAIB and/or RIBO license required.
  2. Experience working with Canadian insurance carriers is preferred.
  3. Minimum requirement of 5 years of insurance experience in commercial lines.
  4. Experience working in a B2B sales environment with a multi-stage sales process.
  5. Strong track record of independently generating leads, qualifying prospects, and closing deals.
  6. Proficiency in utilizing Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  7. Experience with EPIC, or other platforms for P&C; nice to have: Salesforce and Salesloft, or similar CRM and sales automation tools.
  8. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients.
  9. Self-motivated and target-driven, with a passion for exceeding sales goals.
  10. Strong organizational and time management abilities to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
