Job Description:

Director of Trade Strategy & Sales Planning will have responsibility for the development of Trade Fund strategy, guidance, and deployment within Winland Foods and will be responsible for coordinating, communicating, and executing the annual Sales Planning process for the Branded Sales organization. As part of the company’s strategic planning process, working closely with the Winland Finance and Business Unit teams, the Director will also develop and oversee the annual “bottoms up” sales planning process for the Branded Sales organization

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for Trade Strategy, Guidance and Efficient Deployment
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and refining the annual Sales Planning Process
  • Understand divisional reporting and analytics needs and work with IT Analytics teams to develop and refine needed reporting for Trade Management
  • Work closely with Commercial Finance and Business Unit teams to deliver profitable volume for the organization through ongoing Trade efficiencies
  • Accountable for funds tracking (both Introductory and Trade) and ensuring that the proper reporting, process, and communication are in place to support overall company objectives
  • Provide management and oversight of Sr. Manager Sales Operations
  • Work strategically with the VP and Directors of Sales along with key Finance and Business Unit leaders to establish key Trade and customer objectives and put communication and support in place to achieve these
  • Accountable for the development, communication, and oversight of the annual Branded Sales Planning Process
  • Responsible for ensuring the correct reporting and inputs are available for the Branded Pasta Trade System, works closely with Sales Operations to ensure the various Trade tool requirements are met
  • Responsible for the acquisition of systems, data, and expertise needed to support the evolving Trade requirements at Winland. Works closely with IT and Sales Operations to identify needed tools and requirements for Post Event and Predictive analytics, taking a leadership role on the implementation team
  • Supports various Trade and Planning related processes, communications, and data needs

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience and knowledge of the food Industry
  • CPG Trade strategy and process knowledge a must
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisor experience
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Possess strategic thinking, leadership, teamwork, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to develop innovative and creative solutions that result in higher profitability; ability to manage complexity in ambiguous situations
  • Proven track record of delivering process and communication improvements related to sales planning
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
  • High comfort level with ambiguity and change
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong technical capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • IRI, SAP- BI experience a plus

Working Conditions:

  • Approximately 10% travel to various WFI locations, customer appointments, industry events or other job related functions.
