Media Events Coordinator

**Time**:
35 hours per week. This is an _8-week_ _seasonal _position, as part of Canada Summer Jobs.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
These requirements are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and ability required:
- Operational Responsibilities:_
- Liaise with festivals & local events to coordinate Radio Western’s participation as sponsor and/or promotional partner.
- Assist in writing and producing advertisements to promote cultural events & festivals.
- Ensure the implementation of on-air and social media advertisements associated with sponsorship agreements.
- Coordinate volunteers to be at festivals booths and provide community outreach.
- Coordinate and create Radio Western promotional materials such as buttons, program guides, etc. to enhance the festival experience.
- Complete other assigned duties as needed
- Communications:_
- Be the main point of contact and representative for Radio Western at festivals & local events.
- Assist with social media content creation
- creativity is good
- Assist with management and communications with Radio Western’s volunteers
- Report any volunteer misuse/misconduct to the Station Manager
Please Note: This position is funded through Canada Summer Jobs; therefore, the applicant must be between the ages of 15-30.
**Previous Experience/Qualifications**:
- Experience in radio or other media industry could be an asset, but isn’t necessary
- Excellent communication and time-management skills are essential
- Familiarity with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

Pay: $19.00 per hour
