Job Overview

The Shaw Festival Theatre seeks a highly skilled Philanthropy Development Representative to join our team. As a key member of our development department, you will be responsible for generating revenue through donor-centric conversations and providing exceptional customer service to our members and patrons.

Key Responsibilities
  • Solicit charitable donations in support of The Shaw via outbound phone calling, electronic communication, and in-person interactions.
  • Maintain exceptional customer service standards by exhibiting strong communication skills, patience, professionalism, and a genuine interest in our members and patrons.
  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge about The Shaw Festival, its plays, and the arts industry to build rapport and advance relationships with donors.
  • Achieve weekly metric targets in support of Membership's fundraising and personal goals.
  • Manage patron portfolios and member accounts, ensuring accurate tracking and timely follow-up actions.
Requirements
  • Possess a significant understanding of the arts and arts-based philanthropy, along with a passion for theatre and support of artists and arts workers.
  • Be prepared to share knowledge about The Shaw Festival, playbills, and plays to help build relationships between The Shaw and patrons and members.
  • Have knowledge of Tessitura – tracking contacts, coordinating follow-up actions, documenting feedback, and processing donations.
  • Be available to work weekdays, some evenings, and weekends as the primary point of contact for Membership services.

  • A competitive salary range of $40,000 - $43,000 based on experience.
