With almost 70 years of experience, our transportation client is a leading marine service provider looking for a talented individual to manage contracts and claims.

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year

About the Role

This exciting opportunity will have you working closely with the Finance department and other teams to ensure alignment on contract terms, claims handling, and incident reporting. As the ideal candidate, you will be responsible for managing and reviewing new contracts, handling all claims by liaising with insurance brokers and legal counsel, and maintaining a centralized repository for all contracts.

  • Manage and review contracts related to shipping, chartering, and other services to ensure compliance
  • Work with operations, insurance, and legal departments to ensure alignment on contract terms, claims handling, and incident reporting
  • Maintain a centralized repository for all contracts, tracking key deadlines, renewals, and amendments
Responsibilities

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Gathering incident details and submitting accurate reports to regulatory bodies, insurers, and legal counsel
  • Managing the documentation and reporting of incidents, including marine-related accidents, property damage, and liability claims
  • Liaising with insurance brokers to submit and track claims. Monitoring claims progress and providing updates to the teams
  • Coordinating with external legal counsel on claims-related legal matters, such as dispute resolution. Where necessary, assisting the legal team with incident investigation, research, and gathering evidence, and preparing for potential legal action
  • Developing and maintaining a centralized critical documents library for contracts, agreements, claims, and other key documents
  • Utilizing e-signature workflow applications and other platforms to streamline the review, approval, and signature process for contracts and related documents
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar position
  • Marine industry experience is strongly preferred
  • Canadian education is a must
