About the Job:

In a collaborative environment, the Medical Office Coordinator provides administrative support to ensure a progressive, efficient, and organized healthcare environment. This role involves operating and maintaining office and hospital equipment, ordering supplies, and utilizing EPIC to facilitate effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the healthcare team.
  • Operate, maintain, and order office and hospital equipment and supplies.
  • Utilize EPIC for case bookings, demographic label printing, and other duties as required.
  • Prepare charts for surgical cases, manage patient flow, and make post-discharge calls as needed.
  • Respond to telephone inquiries and communicate with staff, patients, and families.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent education.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Prior experience in an administrative or clerical role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Keyboarding skills (40 wpm).
  • Experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively de-escalate situations.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Understanding and compliance with patient and staff safety policies.
