About Our Opportunity

In this position, you will be responsible for formulating, developing, implementing, and monitoring policies for the Court Services Division of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice. You will also oversee the development and implementation of strategic and business planning processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in policy development, implementation, and monitoring by identifying policy requirements and formulating and implementing policy changes.
  • Oversee ongoing staff training to ensure policies and procedures are in accordance with legislation and consistently applied.
  • Ensure the uniform application of policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Develop and implement strategic and business plans, performance indicators, and electronic tracking processes for accountability reporting.
  • Conduct operational audits and make recommendations to address deficiencies.
  • Contribute to the ongoing relevance and appropriateness of Court Services Division operations by ensuring legislation is properly reflected in policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the effective management of Court Services Division through identification of issues and trends in the administration of justice.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a University Degree in a related discipline with several years of justice experience. Demonstrated experience in policy analysis and development is essential. Previous experience in organizational development, project management, and change management in a client-focused organization is required.
