At IWK Health Centre, we are committed to providing high-quality patient care services. We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

About the Role

The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the physical, financial, and human resources of the Mental Health program at IWK Health Centre. This role requires a collaborative leader who can effectively liaise with medical, administrative, professional, and support staff to ensure efficient and effective operation of the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in committees associated with the work of the care team(s) and the Health Centre
  • Monitor and evaluate patient care standards and make recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with the manager on human resources required and work with quality facilitators to coordinate quality improvement and risk management activities
  • Mentor team members by supporting, teaching, role modeling, and coaching
  • Coordinate performance evaluation reviews for all staff and manage performance issues in accordance with Health Centre policy
  • Manage day-to-day operational expenditures of the care area(s) in a fiscally prudent manner
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Baccalaureate degree in a health-related field
  • Current registration with the appropriate licensing body of Nova Scotia
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a related clinical role
  • Two to three (2-3) years related leadership experience
  • Knowledgeable in program-based care, trauma-informed care, and patient-family centred care
  • Experience in building teams and maintaining healthy work environments
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $40.15 - $53.35 per hour, plus benefits including comprehensive health insurance, pension plan, and paid time off.
