About the Role

The Manager, Leadership & Legacy Giving will play a key role in developing, managing, and growing sustainable revenue from donors who annually give $10,000.00 – $100,000.00 by incorporating multi-year asks and legacy giving plans. This position will also be responsible for the relationship management of a donor portfolio, with a focus on the Chinese-Canadian community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of Leadership & Legacy Giving donors with the capacity to make a gift of $10,000.00 – $100,000.00 annually, while building multi-year asks and legacy giving plans
  • Complete donor calls to cultivate, solicit, steward and provide ongoing relationship management of donors
  • Develop written donor proposals, engaging Foundation and Hospital for Sick Children stakeholders where necessary
  • Support and integrate strategies for securing recurring revenue from donor base and cultivating increased support (Moves Management) while integrating legacy giving strategies
  • Develop a network of contacts interested in advancing the mission and success of SickKids Foundation and The Hospital for Sick Children
  • Work closely with supporters from the Chinese-Canadian community to engage at the Leadership Giving level
  • Leverage programs being led across the Foundation to engage diverse donor communities
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Foundation (Marketing, Development, Business Intelligence and Information Technology, Operations) to advance donor relationships

Requirements

  • Certificate or bachelor's degree, with a focus in fundraising, marketing, sales, business or other applicable disciplines
  • 5+ years experience in fundraising
  • 3+ years of experience in direct fundraising, business development, or sales within Chinese and East Asian communities
  • Knowledge of the Chinese-Canadian community and experience working with donors, organizations, corporations, local leaders
  • Fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin will be considered a strong asset
  • Track record of soliciting and closing gifts at the $10,000.00 – $100,000.00 level, with the ability to build new and long-term relationships
  • Capability to analyze, interpret data, and build strategic recommendations and action plans
  • Experience with customer retention management systems and data management systems (e.g. Blackbaud CRM, Raiser's Edge, Salesforce)
  • Gift Planning experience will be considered an asset
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and multi-task
  • Creative, resourceful, cost-efficient and intuitively driven
  • The ability to think strategically and work independently, but also a team player
  • Superior verbal, written and storytelling skills
  • Organized, detailed oriented, with strong follow through
