Job Title: Administrative Support Specialist

Job Summary:

The York Region District School Board is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to join our team. As an Administrative Support Specialist, you will provide administrative support to our staff and students, ensuring the smooth operation of our school and district offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to staff and students, including answering phones, responding to emails, and handling correspondence.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files, both physical and digital.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of reports, documents, and other materials.
  • Provide support with financial management, including processing invoices and payments.
  • Assist with the coordination of events and meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and sending reminders.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • Secondary School Graduation Diploma with one year of post-secondary education focusing on administrative studies or related field.
  • Minimum one year related experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Board-approved software.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced office environment, with frequent interruptions and deadlines to meet. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
