Job Title: Child and Youth Worker

We are seeking a skilled Child and Youth Worker to join our team at Pluming Eagle Lodge Ltd. as a permanent employee.

Work Setting:

The successful candidate will work in a group home setting, providing support and services to children and youth in need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare reports and case histories to document client progress and needs.
  • Assess clients' needs and eligibility for specific services, and develop individualized plans to meet their needs.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including data entry and record-keeping.
  • Implement life skills workshops and programs to support clients' development and well-being.
  • Conduct follow-up assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of services and make adjustments as needed.
  • Develop and coordinate the delivery of specific services within the community, including liaising with other social services agencies and healthcare providers.
  • Provide support with daily living tasks, such as housekeeping and food preparation.
  • Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Supervise children's visits with parents to ensure their safety and provide support as needed.
  • Implement behavior management programs to support clients' positive development and well-being.
  • Assist clients with special needs, including accompanying them to appointments and social outings.
  • Manage events and activities to support clients' engagement and participation.
Requirements:
  • College diploma or equivalent in a related field, such as social work or child and youth care.
  • Experience working with children and youth in a group home setting, preferably with a focus on child and youth care or social work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities, with a focus on providing high-quality services to clients.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
