The Opportunity

The Diversity Institute at Toronto Metropolitan University is seeking a seasoned professional to serve as a Program Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, managing, and administering research-related programs, events, and initiatives that advance equity, diversity, and inclusion in organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and manage research-related programs, events, and initiatives that advance equity, diversity, and inclusion in organizations.
  • Collaborate with multiple partners internally and externally to ensure the Diversity Institute's research program area offers current, relevant, and innovative programs.
  • Develop programming to promote and measure program and research impact.
  • Ensure that DI research programs accomplish funded objectives and meet the needs of participants through flexible and accessible delivery modes.

Qualifications
  • Completion of a post-secondary degree program in Business, Communications, Education, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Five years' experience in program management/coordination or a related field.
  • Experience in an academic institution preferred.
  • Experience in management and administration, including monitoring and overseeing program budgets.
  • Experience in planning and promoting programming and events.
  • Participation in national, provincial, and local initiatives that provide capacity to work collaboratively with other organizations and the ability to draw on resources.
  • Leadership, management, and communication skills in the area of program development and delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage in a process of program assessment, planning, implementation, knowledge sharing, and evaluation.
  • Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of educational best practices and trends.
