Position Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Organizational Development, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Specialist plays a vital role in shaping our organizational culture. This individual will champion initiatives that promote a welcoming and inclusive environment for all staff, patients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion across all aspects of the organization.
  • Conduct needs assessments and analyze data to identify areas for improvement related to diversity and inclusion.
  • Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to integrate diversity and inclusion principles into policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Provide training and education programs on topics such as unconscious bias, cultural competency, and inclusive leadership.
  • Create a supportive environment where individuals from diverse backgrounds feel valued and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives.
  • Monitor progress and evaluate the effectiveness of diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in the field of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, coupled with relevant experience and expertise.

  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion, as well as related legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Lived experience as a member of an equity-deserving group is an asset.
