Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Program Assistant to join our Adult Day Programs team at Baycrest. The successful candidate will provide exceptional support to our program members, ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being.

Responsibilities
  1. Deliver direct care and support during programs, adhering to interdisciplinary care plans.
  2. Support members' independence, dignity, social, emotional, and cultural well-being.
  3. Promote a safe and respectful environment conducive to dementia care, mental health care, and physical frailty.
  4. Support the delivery of in-person and virtual programs related to health and wellness.
  5. Plan and conduct assigned programs, including special events, under the guidance of Therapeutic Recreation.
  6. Assist with transportation to and from the program, as required.
  7. Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with program members, families, and care providers.
Qualifications
  1. Current P.S.W. certificate from a recognized community college or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Experience in program activation, recreation, and virtual program delivery.
  3. Activation Diploma preferred.
  4. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
  5. Certificate in Dementia Care preferred.
  6. Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
