Employee Relations Manager Role

Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled Employee Relations Manager to join our team. As an Employee Relations Manager, you will be responsible for investigating and finalizing medium/high risk Employee Relations cases in support of designated business lines/subsidiaries/countries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and finalize medium/high risk Employee Relations cases
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, Bank policies, and processes
  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide value-added advice and coaching on employment-related issues to employees, People Managers, and HR Business Partners
  • Conduct formal investigations into allegations of serious misconduct
  • Lead employee interviews and write investigative reports

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree or college diploma in Human Resources, Business, or another related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in Employee Relations or Human Resources
  • CHRP or CHRL designation is considered an asset
  • Expert knowledge of employment law and labour law
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply sound judgment
  • Strong conflict and alternative dispute resolution skills
