Overview of the Human Resources Consultant Role

NuChem Sciences, a division of Sygnature Discovery, is a premier integrated drug discovery Contract Research Organisation operating in the UK and Canada. With a workforce exceeding 1,000, including 900 dedicated scientists, we collaborate with global pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and non-profit organizations.

Since our inception in 2004, we have successfully delivered over 40 novel pre-clinical and 22 clinical compounds, with our scientists credited on more than 170 patents. Our expertise spans various therapeutic areas, including oncology, inflammation and immunology, neuroscience, metabolic disorders, infectious diseases, and fibrotic conditions.

Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Human Resources Senior Director, the Human Resources Consultant will be instrumental in driving the company's success. The role encompasses collaboration with the HR team on diverse initiatives and projects related to recruitment, HR marketing, employee engagement, performance management, training, and more.

  1. Engage in the recruitment process: drafting job descriptions, posting on various platforms, reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and preparing employment contracts.
  2. Organize and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires to ensure smooth integration.
  3. Innovate and implement strategies for HR marketing, talent acquisition, and employee retention.
  4. Plan and coordinate social events for staff to enhance workplace culture.
  5. Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding HR practices, programs, and benefits.
  6. Contribute to the annual performance review and evaluation process.
  7. Assist in the planning and coordination of training sessions.
  8. Ensure adherence to current policies and legal requirements, including necessary updates.
  9. Participate in the assessment of existing HR programs and the development of new initiatives.
  10. Propose strategies for development within the HR sector.
  11. Maintain and update various HR records and reporting requirements to ensure accuracy.
  12. Draft memos, policies, and documentation related to appointments and departures.
  13. Undertake other related responsibilities as required.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field;

At least 3 years of experience in a Human Resources role;

Proficient in both French and English (written and spoken);

Strong command of Microsoft Office applications;

High level of discretion and professionalism;

Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks efficiently;

Strong problem-solving capabilities;

Sense of responsibility and sound judgment;

Excellent organizational and time management skills;

Strong interpersonal abilities;

Positive and proactive attitude.
