Job Summary

The Stores and Distribution Attendant plays a crucial role in the Provincial Health Services Authority's (PHSA) supply chain operations. This position is responsible for coordinating the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods and materials to support the delivery of healthcare services across the province.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and prioritize internal requisitions from various sites and departments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods and materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, internal requisitions, and pick lists, utilizing computerized systems to track and manage inventory.
  • Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming goods and materials, verifying compliance with specifications and completing related paperwork.
  • Coordinate the marshaling and transportation of supplies and equipment to and from designated areas, sites, and departments.
  • Identify and return damaged or spoiled goods to suppliers, completing necessary documentation.
  • Operate a truck and various powered equipment and carts, adhering to WHMIS and TDG regulations, and completing required documentation.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance functions on vehicles and equipment, maintaining accurate records and recommending repairs or replacements as necessary.
  • Participate in inventory activities and perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Grade 12, one (1) year recent, related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid Class 5 British Columbia driver's license.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment and vehicles, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
