Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Rehabilitation Worker to join our team at Health Association Nova Scotia. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with varying abilities in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the physical and mental health of individuals served is maintained and not put at risk by other persons or staff.
  • Observe, document, and communicate changes in physical and mental health, and accompany individuals to appointments as needed.
  • Ensure regular personal hygiene habits are followed, and healthy diets are provided and encouraged.
  • Administer medications and perform simple first aid as directed by policy.
  • Support individuals in accessing recreation and leisure opportunities, and accompany them on activities as required.
  • Assist with referrals to community resources, and liaise with those resources on behalf of the individual.
  • Ensure proper attire and comfort are maintained, and stimulate and support appropriate interactions and interpersonal relations.
  • Encourage and support individuals in fulfilling their individual spiritual needs.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or education/experience in a Human Services field or Community College Diploma.
  • One year of experience or a combination of education, training, and related work experience is an asset.
  • Experience supporting individuals with varying abilities is an asset.
  • The ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and overnights.
  • A valid Nova Scotia Driver's License.
  • The ability to lift pounds.
