Unit Clerk, Ambulatory Clinics Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Clerk to join our team at BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre. As a Unit Clerk, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support to our healthcare team, ensuring the smooth operation of our clinics.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and healthcare staff, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits using our computerized system, ensuring accurate and efficient use of resources.
- Prepare and maintain patient charts, ensuring all relevant information is up-to-date and accurate.
- Transcribe physicians' orders and prepare necessary documentation for procedures.
- Compile statistical data and reports, using electronic software to analyze and present findings.
- Perform various administrative tasks, including typing, filing, and data entry.
Requirements
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from an approved Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent related experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to operate related equipment and software applications.
