Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Clerk, Ambulatory Care Specialist to join our team at PHSA. As a key member of our healthcare operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient appointments, diagnostic tests, and procedures, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of services.
  • Process clinician orders, prepare requisitions, and communicate with patients and staff as needed.
  • Organize and maintain accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient flow and efficient use of resources.

Requirements

  • Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent, related experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Ability to operate a variety of computer software applications, including electronic health records systems.
